Beth Richardson joins S.C. Chapter of Women’s White Collar Defense Association

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Beth Richardson, a member of Robinson Gray law firm, has been accepted for membership in the newly-formed South Carolina chapter of the Women’s White Collar Defense Association.

WWCDA promotes the common business and professional interests of women who practice law and concentrate on white collar and other defense and compliance work. The organization was founded in 1999, in response to what founders saw as “a glaring lack of women in white-collar practice and in existing professional white-collar organizations.” Since then, it has expanded to 49 chapters throughout North America, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific, and has more than 3,500 members.

The South Carolina chapter was launched Nov. 1. For more information: https://www.wwcda.org/wwcda-chapters/chapters-south-carolina?Execute=1

Beth has practiced law for more than 20 years. Her practice with Robinson Gray focuses on business disputes, including advising and defending executives and entities in matters related to alleged financial wrongdoing, particularly alleged violations of the False Claims Act (FCA), the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), the Physician Self-Referral Law (Stark law), and the Consumer Financial Protection Act. She has also represented individuals and entities in commercial arbitration settings, such as FINRA, involving alleged violations of commercial contracts, and banking or securities law.

Her clients include publicly traded and private companies and their officers and employees operating in a wide array of industries including health care, financial investing and banking, insurance, energy and utility, restaurant and retail, and commercial development.

In the Fall of 2023, she served as an adjunct professor at the Joseph F. Rice School of Law at the University of South Carolina, teaching Legal and Equitable Remedies. She earned her Juris Doctor from Washington University Law School in St. Louis in 2001, where she served as Editor in Chief of the Washington University Law Review, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Duke University in 1997.
