Laffitte named Trial Lawyer of the Year by SC ABOTA Chapter
Becky Laffitte, a founding member of Sowell Gray Stepp & Laffitte, has been named the Trial Lawyer of the Year by the South Carolina Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
ABOTA is a national organization dedicated to elevating the standards of integrity, honor, and courtesy in the legal profession and to preserving and promoting the civil jury trial.
In general, members must have been involved as lead counsel in 20 civil cases that ended in jury verdicts.
Laffitte was selected as South Carolina’s Lawyer of the Year after a vote of chapter members. She was recognized during an awards presentation that was part of the Annual Black Tie Dinner Feb. 3 at the Summit Club in Columbia.
Laffitte’s practice areas are products liability, premises liability, construction litigation, commercial transportation and trucking and alternative dispute resolution.
