Jasmine Smith to chair Business Law committee with American Bar Association

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Jasmine Smith of Robinson Gray law firm is the new chair of the Professional Responsibility Committee of the American Bar Association Business Law Section.

She was officially named to the post at the ABA Business Law Fall Meeting in San Diego in the second week of September, billed as “the ultimate gathering of business law professionals from around the world.”

The appointment lasts through 2027. The committee she now leads informs lawyers “about developments in, and works to improve, the law governing lawyers, including rules of professional responsibility and conduct, as applicable to domestic or transnational business law practice.” The committee also strives to promote scholarship and quality presentations on legal ethics and risk management issues of interest to lawyers.”

Jasmine’s practice at Robinson Gray lies in large part in the areas of commercial litigation, professional liability and ethics, probate and estate litigation, and appellate advocacy. She is very active in the South Carolina Bar and her community, and has regularly presented both nationally and locally on ethics and the rules of professional responsibility and conduct.

Jasmine has been involved with the ABA Business Law Section for several years, and from 2019-21 was an American Bar Association Business Law Section Fellow.
