Gray honored with National Conference of Bar Presidents 2016 Fellows Award
COLUMBIA, SC – Sowell Gray attorney Betsy Gray is the 2016 recipient of the National Conference of Bar Presidents (NCBP) Fellows Award.
The award, which was presented on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the 2016 NCBP Midyear Meeting in San Diego, CA, recognizes the accomplishments of a past president of a bar association who has demonstrated a continuing commitment to leadership, service, the work of the organized bar and the purposes of the NCBP. Recipients of the award must have also demonstrated a lifetime of achievement or exceptional service to lawyers or the public.
“Betsy is very deserving of this distinguished award,” said managing member Cal Watson. “In addition to developing her successful law practice she has always been willing to serve her community and profession at every level. Her leadership sets an example of excellence every legal professional should strive to achieve.”
Gray is a past president of the South Carolina Bar, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Bar Foundation and the Litigation Counsel of America. Some of her past honors include the 2016 Best Lawyers in America “Bet the Company” Litigation Lawyer of the Year, 2015 TWIN Award from the Palmetto Center for Women, the Leadership in Law award in 2010 from South Carolina Lawyers Weekly and the Jean Galloway Bissell Award in 2000 by the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association. She has been selected a Best Lawyer in America in the area of commercial litigation every year since 2005, a Super Lawyer Top Ten in Business Litigation, Chambers U.S.A. America’s Leading Lawyers for Business since 2007 and a Benchmark Litigation Local Litigation Star.
