Betsy Gray honored with TWIN award for corporate achievement

Betsy Gray was awarded the Palmetto Center for Women’s (PCW) Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) award at a luncheon held Thursday, February 5th.

The TWIN awards honor women whose outstanding achievements mark them as leaders and role models in business and in the community. Since its inception in 1980, the TWIN awards have honored more than 500 businesswomen who have made outstanding contributions to their professions and communities. Recipients are nominated by their peers and selected by an independent panel of judges from the Midlands area.

“We are proud and honored that Betsy is being recognized for the many contributions she makes to her profession and the Midlands,” says Cal Watson, managing member of Sowell Gray. “She is an excellent role model and an advocate for professional women; her career exemplifies leadership, professionalism and compassion for others.”

Betsy is a native of Columbia and a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and Past President of the South Carolina Bar. Betsy has been selected as a Best Lawyers in America yearly since 2005 and has been a South Carolina Super Lawyer each year since 2008, making its Top 10 list in 2009, 2013 and 2014. Her leadership in the community includes serving on the Board of Trustees for Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community. She is also a former board member for the University of South Carolina’s Educational Foundation.
