The Numbers Don’t Lie

Trump…he’s not everyone’s “cup of tea” (pun intended), but he did claim a big victory in the South Carolina Republican primary this past Saturday.  And just like that, he now has 67 delegates and is the leader of the Republican Party.  While some may not be too happy, as South Carolinians, we should be pleased that so many of us exercised our right to vote.   In fact, more South Carolinians showed up at the polls, or cast an absentee ballot than ever before.

A total of 737,917 votes were cast this year, up over 22% from the 2012 Republican Primary and up over 65% from the 2008 Republican Primary.  That my friends, should make us proud…proud to be in this great state and more importantly, proud to be doing something that so many have fought so hard for.
