Robinson Gray Member Amanda Mellard joins board of SCDTAA

COLUMBIA, SC – Amanda Mellard, a member at Robinson Gray law firm, has joined the board of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association as an at-large member.

The SCDTAA is an association of lawyers who devote a substantial amount of their professional time to the handling of litigated cases, primarily for the defense. Its stated purpose is “to promote justice, professionalism and integrity in the civil justice system” by bringing together such attorneys.

Amanda, who joined the firm in 2022, has practiced for years in Greenville in the area of workers’ compensation defense.

She represents businesses, insurance companies, third-party administrators and self-insured employers before the S.C. Workers’ Compensation Commission and has assisted with arguments before the state Court of Appeals and the state Supreme Court. She is a member of the S.C. Workers’ Compensation Educational Association as well as the SCDTAA.

Amanda earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Clemson University in 2003, and her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2006.

She joins fellow Robinson Gray Member Rob Tyson on the SCDTAA board. He has represented the second district on the board since 2013.
