Court primarily focuses his practice on litigating cases related to utility regulation, the environment, and insurance.

He has a wide range of experience, including litigating matters in federal, state, and administrative courts, as well as serving in legal advisory and counseling roles during his military service. He has represented and advised clients in matters pending before the South Carolina Public Service Commission (SCPSC) and has litigated and offered counsel to project owners, developers, and contractors involved in complex construction projects. His commercial and regulatory practices also include representing and counseling companies, vendors, and contractors doing business with government entities at all levels. Court graduated summa cum laude from the Citadel in 2001 and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Florida in 2004. Afterwards, while serving in the military, he was competitively selected for advanced legal studies and earned a Master of Laws degree with a focus on environmental and natural resource law from Harvard Law School in 2011. He is licensed to practice in both Florida and South Carolina and is an active member of the Bar in both states.

Court retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His military awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, The Meritorious Service Medal, and the Iraq Campaign Medal.

  • Litigated cases for project owners, renewable energy developers, and engineers in complex construction-related disputes.
  • Provided counsel on all legal and contractual aspects of construction projects to further their successful completion.
  • Represented and advised solar and renewable energy developers in regulatory matters before courts, government agencies, and state public service commissions.
  •  Served as lead counsel for companies in dockets at the South Carolina Public Service Commission (SCPSC).
  • Acted as lead counsel for an EV charging station manufacturer in various matters before the SCPSC.
  • Served as a lead counsel for a solar developer in securing the first-ever SCPSC Siting Act approval for two 100 MW solar projects, which were the first non-fossil projects to go through the Siting Act process.
  • Provided environmental counsel and due diligence services to commercial property owners and developers, implementing strategies to achieve their development goals.
  • Served as litigation counsel for a property insurer in defending against coverage-related claims.
  • Litigated and offered counsel to companies, vendors, and contractors conducting business with federal, state, and local government entities.
